The 133th national librarians’ day observed
The 133th national librarians’ day was commemorated on August 12 at ATNCC library. This day holds significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr S. R. Ranganathan father of library science in India.
In his opening remarks, librarian Punith H G shed light on the exceptional life and contributions of Dr Ranganathan. He highlighted how Dr Ranganathan’s innovative ideas have significantly shaped the field of library science and his legacy continues to inspire librarians across the country.
Prof. Mamatha P.R,Principal, Library staff, teaching and non teaching staff were present.
Essay Competition on the Occasion of National Librarians Day 2025
As part of the National Librarians’ Day 2025 celebrations, the Library & Information Centre is organizing an Essay Competition on the topic: “Role and Importance of Libraries in Modern Society”. "ಆಧುನಿಕ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ".
